TEXT AND CHAT SUPPORT FOR VIOLENCE & ABUSE

Kaushee’s Place now offers a secure text and online chat service for people experiencing violence in the Yukon, as well as loved ones looking for information and resources on how to provide support. The chat line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, just like our support line. Our trained support workers can provide empathetic listening, safety planning, resources and referrals using encrypted technology so conversations are safe and secure.

Conversations are confidential and anonymous. You are not required to share any identifying information unless you choose to do so, in order to help you access Kaushee’s Place or other community services.

Once you click on the ‘Chat with Us’ link, you will leave our site so the only browser window you will need to close is the chat window.

We are here to keep you safe but there are risks with chatting/texting online. When you chat online with a support worker, please make sure your device or computer is safe.

Here are a few tips to stay safe online:

If you think someone else could have installed spyware onto the device you are using, you may not want to use this service. If you have questions about how to use this service safely, call our 24/7 line 867-668-5733 if it is safe for you to do so.

If all our support workers are busy, you will get a message letting you know that no one is available. You can try later or call our support line.

If your situation is an emergency, please call 9-1-1.

If you are having suicidal thoughts, you can call 9-8-8 for the suicide crisis hotline.
